The UMF label is a trademark which designates the non-hydrogen peroxide activity of manuka honey. Because UMF is trademarked, there is a fee associated with using it, but honey that has been through the same testing standards and determined to be "active" can make the same claims since the test is quantified by an independent laboratory. Our beekeepers use labs which conform to the same methods used to determine UMF and clearly state that they adhere to the methodology: "Antibacterial Activity of Honey as Supplied by the University of Waikato."
Our "Bio-Active Healing Power" products are used by doctors in the United States and are sold worldwide for their healing abilities. Look for the gold "Bio-Active" symbol on the front of the jar to determine the non-hydrogen peroxide activity in the honey.
